Healer
A Healer not only leads a Tribe, but also heals the sick and wounded. There is only one Healer at a time.
PRIVILEGES: Healers can live where they choose, but most show a tendency to live at the Place of Healing. They can command all of the other cats and wolves. They can also cure the sick and wounded. Keeper of Knowledge
A Keeper of Knowledge is in charge of knowing everything about the Tribe. They must answer questions of newcomers so the Healer can do more important things, if the Healer is busy at the time. There is only one Keeper at a time. They take the place of the Healer when the Healer dies/retires if they want to.
PRIVILEGES: Keepers of Knowledge can live in camp or the Temple of Knowledge, but prefer the latter. They can command all of the other cats and wolves except for the Healer. They may heal the sick and wounded if the Healer permits. Elders
Elders are the oldest of the Tribe cats. Aside from the Keeper of Knowledge, they know the most about the Tribe. They're wise, but sometimes cranky. Cats/wolves become elders when they retire from their previous rank. (You must be at least 72 moons old to become an elder OR have been injured so seriously that you will not be capable of performing your previous job.)
PRIVILEGES: Elders can live in camp. They may advise all ranks, but only To-bes and kits/pups must follow their orders. They may heal the sick and wounded if both the Keeper of Knowledge and Healer permit it. Kit/Pup-Mothers
The Mothers are charged with staying with their kits/pups until the kits/pups reach training age (6 moons). They are typically gentler than Island-Guards and Prey-Hunters who have no pups or kits, but they are definitely much angrier when their offspring are threatened.
PRIVELEGES: They may live in camp, raise kits, and command Island-Guards/Prey-Hunters, To-bes, and kits/pups. They may not roam freely through the land until their kits/pups are at least 3 moons of age, and even then, the kits/pups must have a temporary caretaker and the Mother must be accompanied by an Island-Guard. Island-Guards and Prey-Hunters
Island-Guards and Prey-Hunters are in charge of guarding the Islands and catching food for the Tribe. They are fully-grown cats. Island-Guards are typically stronger and bigger, and Prey-Hunters are smaller, thinner, and quicker. (They may retire to be elders after they reach 72 moons or after serious and permanent injury if they feel they are unfit to remain at their current rank.)
PRIVILEGES: Both may live in camp, train To-bes, and have kits/pups. They may command all To-bes and kits/pups. Island-Guards may roam freely through the Islands. Prey-Hunters may roam freely through the Islands if accompanied by an Island-Guard. To-Bes
To-Bes are in training to be either an Island-Guard, Prey-Hunter, or the Keeper of Knowledge. They are older than kits/pups, but not yet full-grown. Their future rank is judged by their physical and mental characteristics, but if they are all-around average, they are allowed to choose their future rank, unless their Mother has a preference.
PRIVILEGES: They must live where their mentor lives. They can roam freely if their mentor is accompanying them. They can command no ranks. They can't retire (unless permanently and cripplingly injured) or have kits/pups. They can train with their mentor. Kits/Pups
They are young Tribe-members under the age of 6 moons. That's really all that needs to be said...
PRIVILEGES: They must live with their mother. They cannot leave camp. They cannot retire/have kits/pups. They cannot fight/hunt. They can't command any other Tribe-members. They can become To-bes when they are 6 moons old. |
